ASA University Enhances Training Accountability with Free Manager Dashboard in Brightspace

Implementing and maintaining a training program is no small task – and it can feel like a monumental achievement to simply get your program off the ground. But the most successful of training programs can falter without learner accountability and oversight of learner progress and organizational training goals. Without continuous monitoring and tracking of learner goals, your ability to demonstrate the ROI of your training program diminishes.

ASA University encourages learner accountability and provides tools for our members to monitor and track employee progress on training inside ASA University. Brightspace’s “Manager Dashboard” inside ASA University is the perfect place to easily view, track, and monitor performance on training at your organization.

The ASA University team can provide you with access to a real-time dashboard of learners at your organization, complete with drill-down metrics on course progress and completion. Each time learning is assigned to your team members, you will see the learner’s real-time progress on your Manager Dashboard populated automatically.

A downloadable report will also provide you with a 12-month lookback on learner activities. This can be extremely useful during coaching conversations or performance reviews, especially during difficult conversations with employees who may be struggling with certain areas of their role. Being able to access real-time training outcomes can provide early signals for needed intervention for an employee skill gap or might even allow you to identify star performers that are ready for the next step or challenge in their role or career.

Multi-tiered teams can also use the Manager Dashboard, with the ability to designate specific managers for specific groups of learners – allowing your functional managers to focus on their team’s specific goals, and access for their own managers to see top-down progress for their direct reports.

Some easy ways to integrate training performance monitoring into your workflow could be:

  • Reviewing a learner’s progress on assigned training objectives during weekly check-ins
  • Allow managers to generate topics for conversation during 1:1 coaching sessions depending on the most recent learning experiences for the team member
  • Providing a path to career advancement by assigning and monitoring training commitments
  • During performance review time, to demonstrate skill growth or the need for skill development in particular areas
  • To demonstrate the effectiveness of your training program by providing metrics on employee engagement, success criteria, and performance to upper-level stakeholders
  • As leverage during conversations with stakeholders for new training initiatives and projects
