Tuesday, December 9, 2025 / News NETWORK Attendees Help Raise More Than $20,000 For Operation Rise and Conquer NETWORK2025 attendees in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida last month helped longtime ASA partner Operation Rise & Conquer meet its $10,000 donor match that was issued at the association’s national conference. Development Director Allison Butcher reported more than $20,000 was raised for The Adaptive Sports Center’s Operation Rise & Conquer program, which provides high-quality adventure activities for veterans, military service personnel and first responders who have a disability. Butcher noted this will help bring a group of 10 veterans out to Crested Butte, Colorado for a week of programming, including travel, lodging, meals and all activities. During the annual member luncheon at NETWORK in Ft. Lauderdale, attendees heard from Retired Army Captain Jody Shiflett, who had a combat deployment to the Persian Gulf during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Captain Shiflett was injured in an aerial resupply exercise. Since his injury, Captain Shiflett has been active with the Paralyzed Veterans of America and has competed nationally in a variety of wheelchair sports. Over the last decade-plus ASA and its Emerging Leaders Division has enjoyed this important relationship with ASA-member companies donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to this critically important cause.
