Wednesday, July 9, 2025 / News New Initiatives & 2026 Budget Set in Motion at ASA’s Summer Executive Committee Meeting Chicago, Summer 2025 — The American Supply Association (ASA) Executive Committee gathered last week in Chicago to finalize key initiatives and approve preliminary budget plans for 2026. Building on the strategic groundwork of 2024 and early 2025, the Committee focused on advancing the PHCP‑PVF supply chain through data standardization, workforce development, advocacy, and expanded digital resources. Budget Outlook & Strategic Resource Allocation Committee members reviewed 2026 budget requests submitted by ASA’s strategic councils, task groups, regional divisions, and special-interest subdivisions. The objective: align funding with ASA’s long-term vision while supporting high-impact areas such as technology, training, and government advocacy. Launch of Industry Product Data Standard A major milestone was the formal launch of the first-ever Product Data Standard (PDS) across the PHCP‑PVF industry. “Spearheaded by the association’s Embracing the Future Council, the PDS aims to streamline data sharing, reduce administrative burden, and improve transactional efficiency,” said ASA CEO Mike Adelizzi. “Distributors currently process data from hundreds of manufacturers; the new standard will help simplify these exchanges and, beginning this November in Chicago, lay the groundwork for wider adoption.” Strategic Councils Driving Key Initiatives ASA’s four strategic councils shared progress on several core initiatives: Talent & Workforce Development – Focus on attracting qualified talent, improving succession planning, and enhancing career pathways. Government Relations & Advocacy – Continued efforts to shape federal and state policies in workforce, tax, and energy sectors, in coordination with partners like PHCC. AI Technology & Cybersecurity – Preparation of educational tools and resources to help members adopt AI solutions while protecting against digital threats. Why This Matters Data Standardization reduces administrative costs and boosts market efficiency. AI & Cybersecurity Initiatives provide members with tools to operate securely and effectively in a digital-first world. Workforce & Advocacy Programs help ensure the industry attracts top talent and maintains a strong policy voice. Measurement Tools offer benchmarking and visibility to guide members’ strategic growth. At this pivotal summer meeting, ASA reaffirmed its commitment to leading industry transformation. With a clear 2026 budget, strategic rollout of the PDS, and expanded support in key areas, ASA is positioning its members for a future of greater efficiency, digital maturity, and advocacy strength.
