ASA Professional Peer Networking Councils

Late in 2007, ASA established a series of Councils to provide networking and educational opportunities for member employees in specific areas of management.  The Councils put employees in touch with others from around the country in the same job function who experience the same challenges and successes as they do, creating a professional peer network they can turn to as a resource.

Training Council

This Council serves the person(s) responsible for creating and the ongoing implementation of a training program at a wholesale distributor or manufacturing firm.  In addition to training, this Council addresses other HR issues facing ASA members, including recruitment, hiring and retention of employees.

Warehouse & Operations Council

This Council serves the people responsible for running a distribution warehouse, and/or the day-to-day operations of a wholesale distributor.  Participation in this Council provides an opportunity to benchmark your performance against others in the industry and share best-practices that can provide practical and economical improvements for your company.  The latest trends and performance models are discussed on an ongoing basis.

Showroom Managers Council

This Council brings together the individuals responsible for running a wholesale distribution showroom.  Whether large or small, every showroom manages its own financials, needs to maintain a high-quality, service-oriented team, and requires different selling techniques from the rest of the distributor's business, all while staying on top of the latest design trends in the industry.
