This is an OSHA referencing course provided which describes safety procedures that are important for employees who use hand and power tools in their work. The course will inform course-takers about the importance of keeping safety in mind at all times when using potentially dangerous tools.

The course covers eight major sections:
  • Preventing hazards
  • Hand (manually-powered) tools
  • Electric portable power tools
  • Portable power tool controls and guards
  • Portable abrasive wheel tools
  • Liquid fueled and powder actuated tools
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic tools
  • Inspection and maintenance

The course will go into detail about all of these topics so that the employee has a firm grasp of the possible hazards and precautions that surround power tool usage. At the end of the course there is an exam, which tests the knowledge of the course-taker, to ensure that they actively paid attention and retained this invaluable information.

This course references OSHA requirements 29 CFR 1910 Subpart P, 1910.241 1910.242, 1910.243, 1910.244.
